Yup, I felt a real lack of sincerity in the apology too, 'twas disappointing to say the least. Make a mistake? Admit it and learn from it, then we all move forward from there.

I like your point that handing over a pro dSLR kit to a novice can equally screw things up, fortunately they at least will have a fighting chance (at a 'pro' shot) as long as they don't get freaked too hard about the $$$ of camera in their hands.

Personally (re:equipment quality), I'm entering a stage of apathy... no, mild repulsion... at pro gear. Today I took delivery of three PLASTIC Holga lenses to throw onto my dSLR, and am already ecstatic at how disengaging from the worries of technical "requirements" is heartily pouring gasoline onto my creative fire.

Their apology sounded less than sincere... With the knowledge that I have I can take a great photo with a camera phone or a point and shoot. You give someone a 5D with a 2.8 that has no real knowledge of photography and they're screwed. What do you think about that, Nikon?! (...and notice my Canon reference. :) )

John, knowing your own quality of fotos (especially those unique nature shots you get), your words humble me, Thanks a miliion!

You're very right about the calander (it would make a solid 12 series), and if I hadn't been in India it and a book would be done and dusted. Maybe I'll get that in for 2010...

This is a truly excellent photo set, Andy, the quality of the pics are top draw! You've taken a fantastic subject matter in a truly magical city and made a fabulous exhibition of it, worthy of publication. The perspective of the shots are so original and behold the viewer a view not usually seen. It'd be really great to see the photographs in this set used as a calendar!
